Jessica was a kind and curious girl. She lived with her grandmother in a small town surrounded by forests, where mystery seemed to dwell among the leaves and shadows. Despite her tenderness, there was something about her that defied fear. While others avoided the forest after dark, she loved it. She enjoyed walking and listening to nature's whispers.

One morning, after an argument with her grandmother, she went out into the woods. The tears hadn't flowed, but the pain was evident in her labored breathing. She went deeper than usual, wanting to calm down among the dark trees. That's when she saw him: a tall figure, wrapped in a black hood, with his back to her.

Instead of backing away, she took a step toward him, but just as she drew closer, the man turned around. From that moment on, they began seeing each other secretly, always in the same corner of the woods. They talked, laughed, and observed each other in silence. Tom, that stranger with a wounded soul, quickly became attached. There was something about her he couldn't ignore, something he couldn't control.

But Tom was hiding a secret he never dared tell her: he wasn't human. He was a vampire. He had lived among those shadows for centuries, trapped in time, forever young, condemned to thirst.

One night, Jessica went looking for him. The forest was more tense than usual. The air smelled of death. And then she saw him, far away: Tom, devouring the body of an animal with terrifying ferocity. His silhouette was grotesque, his eyes red, his mouth filthy with death.

She froze. Tom looked up in surprise and dropped the animal's limp body.

"Jessica... it's not what you think," he said, taking a step toward her.

Jessica didn't think twice and turned to run. But Tom caught up with her and grabbed her arm tightly, desperately.

"You're not going to leave like this!" he growled. "You can't leave me now, not after what you made me feel! Do you think I chose this? Do you think I didn't want to tell you? Damn it!"
