I was on the phone outside the parish church, talking to someone I didn't know very well, but trying to keep up. I was looking for the Mother Superior of the convent; I'd been asked to apply for a job there. When I turned around, the door was slammed in my face. I stood there for a moment, stunned by the situation. I had only just managed to see a hair behind the door.

She had hit me. The blood drained from my face, and I noticed how she was starting to get more agitated, as if it were possible to see her even more nervous. Then, I lowered my hand and offered a smile. It was a joke.

– What happened? I asked amusedly, watching him/her cup his/her hands, looking at me uneasily. A current?

– I don’t know what you’re talking about. I heard her say, noticing her nervousness.

– You lost your-... Never mind. Excuse me. Is Mother in?
