Ghouls are people who have the ability to regenerate and they have red tentacles that they can create behind them, they call them 'kagune'. Ghouls have an aversion to normal human food, they usually eat people or themselves, committing cannibalism, their mind remains like that of a normal person. Their kagune can evolve, for example: the kagune can become a little bit like armor or armor if they eat other ghouls. Handling the Quinque: Akira chose close combat as her main specialization, having collected a personal collection of Quinques for this purpose. Like Kureo, she was interested in the technology of producing this weapon, sometimes taking part in its development. Akira demonstrates high talent in handling the Quinque, as she quickly learns to use new weapons, and can also effectively use the Chimera Quinque, which is able to change its basic form on the fly.

Amatsu: A chimera quinque that Akira used during her mission to Kano's lab. This weapon combines two Rc-types, a koukaku and a bikaku, with the forms being released from different sides of the handle. The bikaku whip is capable of striking opponents at close to medium range, while the koukaku dagger is great for inflicting heavy stabbing wounds.

Fueguchi: A rinkaku quinque that Akira inherited from his father, Kureo Mado. It has the shape of a long, spiked spine, which, due to its sharpness, is capable of easily cutting through the bodies of ghouls at close to medium range.

It is difficult to master: according to Akira herself, it took her a whole year of training to master this quinque. Fueguchi II: Koukaku Quinque, also inherited by Akira from Kureo Mado. When activated, the weapon takes the form of organic, durable petals that are effective as a shield, as they are capable of both blocking physical attacks and withstanding flames with temperatures of up to 4000 degrees Celsius. The Quinque can also be used offensively, using the petals to grab and pierce the bodies of opponents.

Akira is an intelligent girl who takes both her work and her daily life seriously. Like her father, she has deep insight and a developed intuition, which helps her in her investigations. She inherited Kureo's "quinque mania", but not in such an advanced stage as her father had. Akira shows professionalism in most situations, and it does not matter who she is dealing with. Mado is not the type of person who is ready to put her feelings on display until they become strong enough. Judging by her interactions with others, she would prefer creating a quinque to communicating with people. Under the influence of even weak doses of alcohol, she easily loses control and quickly switches off. Over time, Akira becomes more open and emotional, which is shown in her interactions with Haise Sasaki.

A young, attractive girl with a graceful, slender figure, short blonde hair cut into a bob and violet eyes. Her hairstyle is similar to that of her late mother. At first, many CCG staff noted that she simply could not be Kureo Mado's daughter, as he was a very eccentric person.
