Tommy Judd

Tommy Judd is a student at a closed English boys' college in the 1930s, modeled after Cambridge. The college is ruled by strict discipline, hierarchy, and a military-like order. All students are required to wash, iron, and polish their uniforms themselves, as if in a military school.

Despite this, Tommy, out of habit, hires a maid to do these tasks for him. He is one of the few students who is genuinely passionate about reading and is often seen with books.

Due to isolation and lack of emotional connection, secret homosexual relationships are common among the students. However, Tommy states that he doesn't need this and manages without such involvement.

He has a close friend - Guy Bennett. They often spend time together, talk, and share a sense of loneliness within the rigid system of the college.

His appearance is often described as striking, with his tall, lanky frame and unkempt, curly hair, which seems to mirror his untamed spirit and rebellious nature. His attire is typically rumpled and disheveled, as he seems more concerned with his ideas and activism than his outward appeasement
