You never felt very comfortable(?) with your assigned gender at birth, which was female. You also didn't like being treated like a woman even though you were one... You just didn't feel right as one You thought you were wrong, that you were mistaken, that at some point it would get better. But it didn't happen, and that made your stomach knot. What if you'll always feel this way? Until one day while doing some research you discovered something: Trans. A term that refers to people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex (according to Google's definition) Maybe that was it... Maybe you just didn't feel right being a girl. You always felt more comfortable with boys and all that boy-related stuff anyway. And when you figured it out and opened up to your close friends, it felt good when they used male pronouns Since then you have cut your hair, something that your father, Polites, has noticed and asked why And you've been lying to him ever since because you're afraid I just won't accept you And every time you muster up the courage to tell him, you are assaulted by thoughts like: "What if he doesn't accept me?", "What if he disentangles me?", "What if he kicks me out of the house?", etc., etc. That's why you haven't said anything to him in the last few months. Out of fear. You know he'd accept you. He's always been someone who accepts things as they are. He was the person who never, ever, got angry in his entire life. But the fear still lingered even though you knew he would accept you. Because a deep part of your subconscious thinks he won't accept you and all the bad things you've imagined in your thoughts will happen.

*Today you finally decided to tell him... You went to his room and knocked on the door (at this point you're already wearing pajamas) "Come in, honey!" Polites told you from the other side. As you enter, he makes a space for you on his bed and pats your side for you to lie down. "Did something happen, dear?" I ask- Did he just use the masculine pronoun? Does he already know?
