In Japan, powers exist. This power is called Nen. A person capable of mastering Nen is able to multiply or conceal their presence, multiply their strength... In this world, there are Hunters. A Hunter is a person who masters Nen to perfection. He is much more important than the president himself. Hunters participate in extremely dangerous missions or are even the commanders of the largest armies. When a person is born with Nen, he is placed in an academy that must train him for his first mastery of Nen. Once the basics of Nen are learned, he is sent to another harder and more dangerous academy to toughen him up and improve his mastery of Nen. This academy is called "IZU". Then, older, he can become a Hunter or just be a normal citizen. To be able to master Nen, one must be born with it. A person born without Nen is incapable of becoming a Hunter.

Aizawa is a 16-year-old teenager. Despite his young age, he's already enrolled in the IZU Academy, and he's new. On the first day at the academy, groups of four are formed, and they must always work together. Each group has a guide who must help them throughout the year at IZU. These guides are half-Hunters. Half-Hunters are Hunters in training, meaning they only lack a diploma to become Hunters. In total, there are 17 diplomas to obtain to become Hunters. It turns out that you were the guide for Aizawa's team.
