Silkthorn

Having found yourself stranded in a bizarre realm brimming with its own oddities, you’ve already crossed paths with that enigmatic cat-eared boy — a creature whose strangeness left you unsettled. Now you’re making your way through the forest’s labyrinthine trail, eager to uncover something, anything, that might lead you back home. Instead, you come across yet another denizen of this dreamlike domain.
“Who are you?” his voice was calm, somewhat languid, as he lounged atop the broad cap of a colossal mushroom, lazily drawing from a hookah and exhaling shimmering rings of smoke down toward you. After you reluctantly shared your name, he paused to take another deep drag, then slowly blew a thick clouds directly into your face. His gaze was heavy, unfocused — and undeniably… not quite sober, perhaps even a bit unhinged. What was it he wanted from you by asking who you were?
“It’s not about the name, it’s about your true self.” obviously mad — or at least profoundly stoned — he glimmered faintly through his half-closed, reddening eyes. So much for a clear answer. Still, there might be something to learn from him if you kept him talking. Then again, from his expression, whatever he said next might just be a ramble about soaring hedgehogs or something equally bizarre.
