Snowball is a white rabbit, the former main antagonist of The Secret Life of Pets and deuteragonist in The Secret Life of Pets 2. He is the former leader of the Flushed Pets. In The Secret Life of Pets 2, he adopts the alter ego of the superhero Captain Snowball, a personality given to him by his owner.

Snowball is a fluffy white rabbit with long ears, large, white-pupiled eyes with bright blue irises, small paws with pink pads, and a fluffy tail. He has large teeth and the ability to change his expression, allowing him to fool people into thinking he's an ordinary rabbit. He sometimes disguises himself as "Captain Snowball," wearing a blue and yellow suit with a circle in the center and the letter S. He wears a yellow cape on his back and a pair of yellow shoes, though he doesn't wear them often due to their adorable appearance. He is probably around 3 or 4 years old (19 to 21 in human age).

Snowball is known for being incredibly lovable, but also for being literally insane due to the trauma of being abandoned by his owner. He hates pets and their owners. Initially, Snowball fits the classic "evil-minded" stereotype, wanting to take over the world using the Flushed Pets. Snowball is also incredibly unconventional and manipulative, with a tendency to resort to witty humor. However, in the end, he changed his mind and longed to be a pet once more. He is quite known for being fearless and brave when it comes to saving his gang.

Snowball is depicted as a cute and lovable white rabbit who hates both happy owners and their pets. He has created an army of abandoned pets to get revenge on all the owners and the pets themselves. Previously, Snowball was a party bunny for shows and birthdays, but he was abandoned by his owner and because rabbits went out of style, he hates people and wants to destroy all humans. So, as Snowball told Max, Duke, and the Flushed Pets, "He made me disappear... FROM HIS LIFE!" After Max and Duke are captured by Animal Control officers, Snowball pops out of the sewer and appears in the middle of the road. The officers spot him. D. Fourrage gets out of the truck and examines it, but is attacked while Tattoo and the Dragon race off and hijack the truck. Snowball then hops into the truck, finds Ripper, one of the members of The Flushed Pets, and chews up his carrot to make a key to Ripper's cage. However, when the two officers are thrown from the truck, the truck eventually crashes into an alley. At the last minute before the truck goes up in flames, Snowball agrees to let Max and Duke go free after Max lies and says he hates people, though Snowball is suspicious of them at first. Max and Duke convince Snowball that they are also pets, so Snowball takes them to his underground lair.

Upon arriving at the sewer lair, Snowball introduces himself to Max and Duke and asks them about their story about "murdering their owner." Once again, Snowball convinces himself that they "killed their own owner with a blender." He attempts to summon Viper to bite Max and Duke as a way of recognizing the new recruits; in the process, Snowball claims that he prefers Max to Duke. They are stopped by some cats, who reveal that Max and Duke are actually domesticated animals. Upon hearing this, the Flushed Pets attempt to catch the two dogs, but Duke fights back by shaking Viper by the tail, and Viper is accidentally killed by falling bricks. This prompts Snowball to search for Max and Duke, even if they escape the sewers and head to Brooklyn. Snowball makes a plan to catch his enemies and "kill the little dog (Max)," even if Ripper and Tattoo, his main sidekicks, think his plans are subpar. His draft plan turns out to be rather messy, and he accidentally defecates while laughing victoriously over it. Meanwhile, Pops and Max's neighbors find Snowball's den and see through their plan. Gidget appears to defend Max, but they run away when the entire animal den tries to chase them. Later, Snowball arrives in Brooklyn, disguises himself as a baby, and finds Max, who runs after the truck Duke is in. When the truck stops, Snowball viciously attacks Max, only to find Tattoo and Ripper captured as well. Out of disappointment, Snowball decides to save his recruits with Max and eventually befriends him. He drives a bus to follow the truck. On the Brooklyn Bridge, the truck is thrown off the bridge, and Snowball is knocked unconscious. He soon says, "That raccoon is lying! He's not the President!"

At first, the Flushed Pets believe Max is trying to hurt Snowball and start attacking, but Gidget stops them. Max, along with the truck, falls into the river, but Snowball finds the key to Duke's cage and saves them. After the pets go home, Snowball wants to make a bigger plan, but he is spotted by Molly, who also wants to adopt Dragon, Tattoo, and Derick. All the animals betray Snowball by escaping into a sewer and locking it, preventing him from entering. At first, Snowball tries to escape, but is then touched by the girl's sweet and heartwarming personality, so he gives up trying to escape and allows himself to be adopted again. It is presumed that he cut all ties with The Flushed Pets following his betrayal, and it is possible that they have disbanded, as there is no mention or appearance of any of its members. It is also possible that Snowball has moved on and forgotten about his treacherous former gang.

Snowball has since left his old gang, started over, and now lives happily with Molly. The two spend time together brushing their teeth, eating breakfast while watching superhero movies, and playing superhero games. Molly dresses Snowball up in a custom-made costume. However, Molly's father comes in and reminds him that he will be late for school. Before leaving, he kisses Snowball goodbye and leaves him in charge in his absence. Enjoying his superhero persona as "Captain Snowball," Snowball goes outside to parody Superman's famous flight song until Max notices him. Snowball and Max talk about their owners' activities until Snowball reminds an overprotective Max that his owner's son, Liam, will soon be going to preschool. Later, Snowball is seen attempting to lift weights while Chloe watches until they receive a visit from a female Shih Tzu named Daisy. Realizing that Daisy needs "Captain Snowball" for a rescue mission, Snowball leaves and enters Molly's room to dress up in his superhero costume again, while imagining himself with his muscular body fighting crime and saving a bunny in distress from some shadowy rabbits. Snowball returns to the scene as Captain Snowball and asks Daisy to tell him her story. He learns that Daisy came across a white tiger cub named Hu , held captive by a cruel circus owner named Sergei , while returning from vacation during a flight. Excited and without hesitation, Snowball volunteers to help Daisy free the tiger.

At night, Snowball and Daisy arrive at the circus, only to find Hu being manhandled by Sergei, who forces him to perform a perfect diving trick with a whip, but to no avail; much to their horror. After Sergei locks Hu in a cage and leaves his wolves in charge, Daisy and Snowball proceed to free Hu while they distract and subdue the wolves. Snowball attempts to free the tiger with a hammer, but is unsuccessful. Snowball is then chased by the wolves' leader and tries to stop him in many ways until Daisy manages to trap him in a free-fall attraction after subduing the other wolves and retrieving the keys to Hu's cage. After freeing Hu, Snowball boasts about his success in his first rescue mission until Daisy reminds him that he must find a place to hide Hu, so they decide to take him to Pops' apartment, as his owner is never home. Once there, Snowball is greeted by puppies and a kitten who are part of Pops' new puppy school program since their owner got a new puppy named Tiny. Before Snowball and Daisy can explain the situation to Pops, Pops suddenly notices Hu chewing on a couch and orders Myron to blow the air horn, which scares Hu as he accidentally causes slight damage to the room. When Snowball tries to explain to Pops, Pops refuses to keep him until the puppies and kitten convince him otherwise as they start to warm up to Hu.

Later, back at his apartment, Snowball is having fun playing video games, which he refers to as combat training. He then goes off to get his pizza roll until he hears a noise at the window. He opens the blind only to find Hu at the window along with Pops and the rest of the class. When Snowball wonders what is going on, Pops angrily tells him that Hu vandalized his apartment, which has also angered the class, and decides to leave Hu with Snowball. Snowball begs Pops to reconsider but is unsuccessful, so he decides to hide Hu inside Max's apartment. Snowball then goes off to get his pizza roll and check on him later. Suddenly, Gidget notices him and asks what he is doing in Max's apartment until Snowball gets back at her by asking what she is doing in a cat-infested apartment. At night, when Max and his family return home earlier than expected, Snowball and Daisy hide Hu in Liam's wardrobe until everyone is fast asleep. However, Max and Duke wake up to discover Snowball and Daisy sneaking Hu out the window. Max and Snowball start arguing until Daisy reminds them about the circus wolves chasing them. Upon arriving, Snowball panics until Daisy calms him down. They then try to come up with a plan while Max tries to find a way to scare the wolves away. Snowball and Daisy take Hu to the rooftop and try to sneak him in through the door, but Snowball is confronted and subdued by Sergei's Monkey , and Daisy and Hu are captured by Sergei and his wolves.

Realizing they are in trouble, Snowball and Max follow Sergei in Norman's remote-controlled toy Jeep to the train station. Snowball calls Gidget for backup over a walkie-talkie until the toy breaks down. Max and Snowball then decide to continue on foot while Norman stays behind. Once aboard the train, Snowball accidentally falls into the monkey's carriage, leaving Max alone to deal with the wolves, whom he easily subdues. Meanwhile, Snowball finds Daisy stuck in a cannon and tries to free her until he is confronted again by the monkey, whom he manages to defeat with a little help from Daisy after a long battle and sends him far away into the lit canyon. Then, when Snowball and Daisy reach the engine compartment and find Max fighting Sergei, they team up to help him and soon, Hu joins in. When the conductor stops the train, Snowball and the others push Sergei off the train and onto the ground. However, when they are about to escape, Sergei grabs Hu by the leash and threatens to shoot them until Sergei is knocked unconscious by the Cat Lady's car, thus saving them all. Snowball and the others are then taken back home in the Cat Lady's car before dawn. In the morning, when Molly wakes up, she picks up the sleeping Snowball and takes off his costume to disguise him as something else. Suddenly, Snowball wakes up to find himself dressed as a princess by Molly, which, ironically, he ends up thinking is great, as she admires his new look.

Snowball's name is Hógolyó in Hungarian and Lumipallo in Finnish. As seen in a trailer for Christmas 2015, if Snowball eats something with sugar, he becomes hyperactive. Snowball makes a cameo with Bob in the opening title of Illumination entertainment's The Grinch. Snowball drove a bus into the Brooklyn Bridge and the bus had a SING advertisement on the back. Snowball might have weak intestines, causing feces to unexpectedly leak out the bottom. This is shown when he laughs and accidentally defecates. In the sequel, Snowball parodies the famous 1970s Superman flight theme while pretending to be a flying superhero. He is the only member of the Flushed Pets who was in The Secret Life of Pets 2. He appeared in the Illumination logo with Bob the Minion in the opening scene of The Grinch (2018). He also wears a superhero costume in The Secret Life of Pets 2. The original film is the only time Snowball mentions Max's name, in the second film he mainly calls him "TD" and "Tiny Dog".

They are a horde of abandoned pets seeking revenge against the humans and domesticated pets of New York. Snowball was their leader, helping them destroy all humans until he was adopted by Molly. After leaving Snowball behind, it is unknown if the Flushed Pets disbanded or imposed new leadership, as they do not appear in the sequel and are not mentioned further. According to Snowball, the Flushed Pets are like a club, but with bites and scratches. They live in an underground lair in the sewers of New York, where other animals also reside who are probably not pets and are presumably members of the gang. While they do not have a specific plan to get revenge on all pets and humans, they appear more frequently when they want to rescue members or get revenge on those who hurt them. To be recognized as a member of the Flushed Pets, one must be bitten by a sacred, half-blind Viper that lives in a metal pipe in normal times, although it is unknown if any of the known members have been bitten by a Viper.

For some unknown reason, Ripper, one of Snowball's main helpers, was captured by Animal Control, so Snowball goes to save him by hijacking the truck Ripper is in with Tattoo and Dragon. They also bring Max and Duke, after they are convinced that the two dogs are not pets. But Snowball soon discovers that Max and Duke are domesticated by the Alley Cats, orders his henchmen to catch them, but ultimately causes Viper's death. They then rush to catch them, but Max and Duke escape, so Snowball returns and makes a plan to catch these two dogs in Brooklyn. In the process, they almost catch Max's neighbors, who is led by Pops to look for signs of Max missing; however, Derick catches Norman after noticing him walking away from a pipe. Although Snowball finds Max in Brooklyn, Tattoo and Dragon are caught by Animal Control, so he and Max drive a bus to chase the truck, but he passes out after the bus and truck collide on the Brooklyn Bridge. Derick thinks Max catches Snowball, so all of The Flushed Pets come out of nowhere, horrifying many of the pedestrians. As they are about to attack, Gidget joins the fray and saves Max from being attacked. However, the truck, along with Max and Duke, falls into the river, so Snowball dives in and finds the floating key to Duke's cage. The successful rescue makes all the animals on the bridge cheer, and then Tattoo finds a taxi to take the animals back to Manhattan. Snowball pretends to resume the mission before being adopted by a girl named Molly, while other members hide in the sewers. It can be assumed that the Flushed Pets foiled his plan for revenge because they later attend a ball at Leonard's apartment. It's unclear what happened to them after Snowball left, as they don't appear in the sequel.
