Poof was born on February 18, 2008 (according to a photo of his birth certificate from a promo for the episode Fairly Odd Baby).
Poof is still a baby, but his real age would be 16. This could be because characters don't age at all, keeping Poof at his current age.
A New Wish co-creator and voice of Hazel Wells, Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, stated in a post via her X account that the reason Poof's name was changed to Peri is because the word "poof" is a derogatory slur for gay men in the UK and many countries and cannot be used. [1]

In "The Battle of the Dimmsonian", after about 10,000 years of separation, Peri reunites with her parents at the Dimmsonian Museum, who are shocked to discover that she has a godson. Peri is shown several times to be somewhat embarrassed by her parents' overly affectionate attitude towards him and wants to be independent, though she still loves them. Cosmo and Wanda were concerned and supportive of Peri when she obtained the Magical Accumulation.

Similarities with Cosmo
Appearance
He shares his appearance more with Cosmo than with Wanda as he grows up. He has Cosmo's eyebrows and similar clothing, only he wears dark purple suspenders. Cosmo's spiky hair is the same as his son's, but it matches Wanda's hairstyle. They are both male, and Peri has half of Cosmo's eye color (Cosmo's are green, a combination of blue and yellow, and Peri has the blue part).

Personality
Peri has a similar personality and voice to Cosmo from the pilot.

Similarities with Wanda
Appearance
The only similarities in appearance are that she shares Wanda's spiral hairstyle and Cosmo's beak. She has half of Wanda's eye color (Wanda's is pink, a mix of red and white, and Peri has the red part).

Personality
She shares most of Wanda's intelligence and will similarly prevent others from making bad decisions.

Family
Peri's parents are Cosmo and Wanda, and his godparents are Timmy Turner and Chloe Carmichael. As a child, he maintained a close relationship with all of them and made temporary wishes for Timmy and Chloe when Cosmo and Wanda were unavailable. In "A New Wish", his parents went on a 10,000-year vacation, leaving him to grow up alone. He changed his name to Peri and was reunited with his parents when he had a godson.

Reaching puberty

As a teenager, Poof began experiencing Pasta Puberty, an experience in which older fairies begin to feel changes in their body, such as Pesctopits, Anipasto acne, and mood swings involving mozzarella. In the episode "Growing Problems", he is seen watching the news and exclaims that he didn't miss Pasta Puberty.

Peri was born in the "Magic Baby" special when Timmy Turner wished that his godparents had a son (since they really wanted a baby because they paid more attention to them than to Timmy when he granted one of his wishes). After a few months, she was finally born. At first, her most common word was "Poof", a name Timmy chose as her own. Other magical races, such as the Pixies and the Anti-Fairies, tried to capture Peri to use her out-of-control magic in their own nefarious deeds. In the first season when Peri appeared, she was practically like a baby: clingy, relying on Cosmo, Wanda, and Timmy for everything; and she cried non-stop (because she was in Cosmo's tummy). Later on, Poof's magical abilities improved to the point where she could grant wishes, sometimes even if Timmy didn't want them. Poof got into a lot of adventures this time, including catching the Chicken Poofs and turning everyone in Dimmsdale into chickens, taking a trip to Yugoslavia, and helping Timmy Turner and his team, the Dimmsdale Victims, win their way to the football championship.

In the original series, Poof is Cosmo and Wanda's adorable baby, and Timmy and Chloe's fairy godmother. He was introduced in the episode "Weirdo Baby," when Timmy wished for him when Cosmo and Wanda longed for a child of their own.

In The Fairly OddParents: One More Wish , he tells Dev Dimmadome that his name is now "Peri". As an adult, Peri typically displays a calm, confident, and charismatic personality. As he gets to know Dev and is subjected to his doting and spoiled behavior, a more anxious and neurotic side of Peri begins to reveal itself. He is also shown to be somewhat embarrassed by his parents' overly affectionate behavior towards him, and while he loves them equally, he clearly wants to be independent.

Description
Baby Poof has a dark purple mane and purple eyes. He wears a light purple shirt with a black "X" and white sneakers. He was the only baby fairy in existence at the time and remains the youngest known fairy.

In The Fairly OddParents: One New Wish, Peri has purple hair to match her new name and a hairstyle that mirrors her parents'—a messier version of Wanda's signature bun. She now wears suspenders and has a new wand that doubles as a cane. She has a round, star-shaped cover over her head that resembles her rattle from the original series.

He is the protagonist of The Fairly OddParents: One More Wish, along with his parents Cosmo and Wanda. Unlike his parents, Peri has a calm and charismatic personality. He is also sometimes neurotic and impatient with his wishes. Peri is voiced by Eric Bauza in One More Wish.

Personality
At first, he appears to have a rather affable and charming personality, but as he becomes more familiar with Dev's spoiled and demanding personality, he develops a more neurotic and slightly sarcastic demeanor. He constantly tries to convince Dev to be a better child, but his advice often falls on deaf ears. It is also shown that he wants to be independent from his parents and is sometimes annoyed by their clingy and uncaring behavior, but still loves them. Despite his flaws and problems as a godfather (no doubt due to his inexperience, as Dev was the first godson he ever sponsored alone and, in Wanda's words, Dev was a tricky child for someone's first job), he genuinely wanted to do well, partly to make his parents proud and partly because, despite their troubled relationship, he truly loved and cared for Dev and wanted to do right by him. He also appears to be slightly more level-headed and logical than his parents, sometimes even than Wanda.

As a baby (Poof), he was described as sweet, kind, and childlike, so he remains very optimistic about what to expect from people (though there are exceptions). As he was only a baby and could usually only say his own name, other characters were easily captivated by him; even Vicky's cold heart was momentarily melted in "Wishes". Only Foop seems to notice that Poof simply repeats his name when they are competing for class president at Spelling Bee, and Poof's "speech" consisted of just that, but he still managed to convince his classmates with ease. This same incident also occurred in "Love Triangle", when Poof managed to outperform Foop for the role of Mr. Cookie in the school play, simply by repeating his name. This is also seen in "Love Triangle".
