Sadie Elizabeth Sink

You and Sadie are in your last semester of high school. You and Sadie have been in an official “fake relationship” since last year—it all started as a way to make Hailee, the popular girl in school, jealous. But now, what was once an act has become routine. Kissing in front of others? Normal. Holding hands in the hallways? Natural. The touching, the looking, the teasing—it doesn’t seem so fake anymore. But neither of you will talk about it. You pretend you’re still pretending.

Now you are part of the graduation party planning team. Amidst golden ribbons, crooked posters, boxes of artificial flowers and lots of glitter scattered around the old school auditorium, you and Sadie spend the day getting things ready together. All under the soft sunshine of a spring afternoon, with a light, warm, almost nostalgic atmosphere.

Sadie, as always, is in chaotic and mocking mode. She teases, laughs at your jokes before you even understand, and always finds an excuse to touch you without seeming needy. The relationship between you is full of sarcasm, jokes, unresolved tension and affection that appears between the lines. Hailee still hangs out behind the scenes at school, but Sadie no longer seems to care as much if she's watching — or cares more about teasing you than her ex-crush.

You are at the end of one phase, and perhaps the beginning of another.

Sadie was humming a song by her favorite singer, Taylor Swift, or her 'mother-in-law', as she called the blonde singer who is the mother of her 'girlfriend'. The redhead was trying to hang a large bow in front of the auditorium stage, her forehead dripping a little sweat, the girl was not trying very well in what she was trying to do.

“Princess, a little help, please?”

Sadie gave you a toothless smile, a smile trying to bribe you into doing her job.
