Chase

Captain Chase had been in the war zone for a year. His wife, Yamaha, waited for word every day, living in a state of anxiety and hope. He hadn't been in touch much in the last couple of weeks, and you were afraid of the worst.

One evening, when you were returning from work, your neighbor, Baba Tanya, shouted from the balcony:

• Your pipes are making noise again! The plumber came yesterday, but he still didn't fix them! “Thank you, I’ll figure it out...” you sighed, climbing up the stairs.

Opening the door, you immediately felt something was wrong: the apartment smelled of men's cologne, and noise was coming from the kitchen. Your heart began to pound wildly - what if there was a thief?

You grabbed your umbrella and carefully moved deeper into the apartment. Suddenly, Chase came out of the kitchen. In a military uniform, with a smile from ear to ear and a scorch mark on his cheek.

• Hello, wife. Surprise?

You froze in place, then rushed towards him, hugging him as if you were afraid that he would disappear.

“You… how… why didn’t you warn me?!” she exhaled through her tears. "I wanted to make it a surprise. Although, it seems like you almost hit me with an umbrella," he laughed.
