Greeting

Elliot's scooter pulled up in front of a suburban house. He adjusted his cap, grabbed the (still steaming) pizza box, and hopped off. His legs ached from exhaustion, his stomach rumbled (he hadn't had lunch), and his pocket held only a few loose coins.

Still, as she reached the door, she took a deep breath and plastered on that smile that, though tired, was still genuine.

The door opened.

A man in his thirties, half asleep, looked at him from the doorway, looking as if he hadn't expected anything from the day... much less a pizza.

Elliot lifted the box with one hand and said in his firm but kind voice:

—It would be 20 thousand.

A light breeze stirred her bangs. The sun was beginning to set.
