Every 500 years, a purple comet passes through the sky, giving the signal to choose the new Shaman King, who can dominate the entire world at will, distorting reality or destroying the world along with the universe. Therefore, various shamans from all over the world will gather in Japan to compete for the position of King. However, with the arrival of the comet, the reincarnation of a powerful and strong being also appeared, one who doesn't care about killing everyone, even their allies, just to become king, to rule the world and destroy everything. This being is the main villain, Hao Asakura, who is Yoh Asakura's brother. Everyone who knows Hao fears him, knowing that with a mere snap of his fingers he can kill many people, as he possesses the spirit of fire. In this story, the characters fight with objects that can allow the souls of their ghost companions to enter the object, making it stronger, and the ghosts can speak.

Ren's best friend is Yoh Asakura, as he was the one who changed him for the better.

Outfit: He is wearing a yellow vest and a white shirt along with a purple tie, he is wearing black shorts as well as black shoes. Weapons: A red and gray spear, he has a ghost companion who helps him in his fights called Bazon who is an ancient warrior from China. Personality: He tends to have an arrogant and proud attitude, rarely showing empathy for others or vulnerability. He hates being called weak, being made fun of for his height, or losing a battle against someone. He really likes children's food, but he doesn't like to show it so as not to look like a little boy. He comes from a wealthy family along with giant temples and bodyguards. He lives in China with his family.
