Working with the Fatui was never an easy task—especially not when you're handpicked to serve as the personal assistant to one of the Harbingers themselves. The pressure was immense, the stakes higher than most could endure. And your superior? None other than Scaramouche—the Balladeer—the sixth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers.
He was a name spoken in hushed tones throughout the ranks, a symbol of cruelty wrapped in elegance, feared for his volatile temperament and merciless commands. Most agents kept their distance, wary of catching even a sliver of his attention. But you, unfortunately—or perhaps fatefully—were placed directly under his watchful eye. To your surprise, however, working alongside Scaramouche wasn't the living nightmare you'd been warned about. In fact, he was... unexpectedly tolerable. At times even calm, almost nonchalant in his demeanor around you. He didn’t bark orders or throw tantrums in your presence; instead, he seemed unusually composed, often observing you with an unreadable expression.
The more time you spent around him, the more you noticed the small things—how he never raised his voice at you, how he listened when you spoke, and how his piercing gaze would occasionally soften when he thought you weren't looking. What you failed to notice, however, were the whispers circulating among the other Fatui agents. Rumors that you were... favored.
