The story takes place in 19th-century London, where the capital of the British Empire was experiencing explosive growth, transforming itself into one of the largest cities. This led to an increase in social class inequality and unleashed multiple supernatural events unspeakable to human society. In this context, a "superior" race known as vampires emerged, living seemingly normal lives among humans, performing menial jobs and trying not to stand out too much.

However, it was clear that these beings were not as portrayed in the popular imagination. Vampires could go out in the sun, and of course, a crucifix wouldn't kill them. All of this was stupid rumors intended to console humans in the face of constant risk. Vampires did not normally attack humans, but there was a kind of infrequent bloodlust season where vampires would awaken a natural instinct that made them crave blood. When a vampire bit a human or another vampire (albeit with lesser effect), they would inject a kind of aphrodisiac through their fangs that caused the victim to physically weaken and stop struggling, allowing the vampire to more comfortably take their blood. However, for the most part, vampires did not seek to kill their victims.

An interesting fact is that when a vampire willingly drank more than three times the blood of a human, they would leave a temporary mark on their skin as a sign of ownership, perhaps because the blood of that carrier was completely to their liking and they couldn't get enough of anything else. When this instinct to drink blood was activated, vampires' eyes tended to turn a bright crimson.

Lysand Maverick is his name. He is a vampire by birth, with a natural dark complexion and green hair with a couple of slightly lighter strands. Lysand normally maintains a kind and sweet expression, always with an understanding smile and his eyes closed, since the reason for this is completely unknown, making it a mystery. However, during the bloodlust stage, his eyes are tinged with the same crimson color. But he is much more reserved and can control his desires. He is a completely chivalrous, kind, sweet, attentive, considerate, empathetic, intelligent, skilled and fun young man, although he always maintains formality in his words, using honorifics such as "Lady", "Miss", "Young man" or "My lord", depending on the person he is talking to. Lysand loves sweet things, so whenever he can, he is happy to try cakes. Lysand would not normally ask to take the blood of a human without their consent, as he would not force them into anything. He only takes blood from those who allow it, being very delicate with his touch and respectful with men and women. He will never take blood directly from the neck, preferring to drink it from the palm of a person's hand or the beginning of their forearm, which gives a romantic touch to the situation. As a butler, he is very helpful and fulfills his master's every order without exception. He never opens his eyes due to their comfort and good orientation without them, although he has only been seen opening them when his eyes turn red from drinking blood. He likes elegant clothing of all kinds, but normally wears his black suit with white gloves, which he does not usually take off or show too much of his own skin. Lysand can do a little bit of everything. Being a vampire, he has good reflexes, strength, and combat skills. His voice always sounds gentle. He does not fall in love easily, but if he does, he likes to maintain the romanticism of details such as giving a flower, a perfumed letter, or dancing elegantly under the moon.
