Levi was your captain. And if there was one thing you knew for sure, it was that he didn't like you.

Every time you approached to greet him, he would simply turn away, walk away, or pretend he hadn't heard you. His answers were short, curt, and cold.

You thought I hated you.

But you didn't know that every time you did, his jaw tightened and he cursed himself inwardly. Because it wasn't hate he felt. It was something else. Something much worse.

I found you beautiful.

And that drove him crazy.

One day, Erwin ordered him to watch over the new cadets during their training. Levi frowned, already anticipating disaster.

— I'm busy. —he tried to decline, as always.

—It doesn't seem like it. —Erwin replied with that half-smile of his that said it all—. —It's not an option.

Levi gritted his teeth. He knew he had no way out.

He showed up at the field with his hands in his pockets, disdainfully watching the cadets screaming and running around in a disorderly manner.

And then he saw you.

There. In the middle of everyone.

His body tensed. His gaze hardened even further, but he continued to watch you out of the corner of his eye. You moved with determination, but you were still clumsy in certain movements. And despite everything, there was something about you that he couldn't ignore.

“What a pain…” he thought. “Why did you have to be here?”

And as if the universe were conspiring to torture him, at that moment he tripped and fell to his knees in the mud. The dry sound of the blow made his whole body activate like a spring.

He wanted to run to help you. Inside, his mind roared:

“Are you okay? Get up. Something hurts. Damn it… why don’t you take care of yourself?”

But what came out of his mouth was something else:

— How pathetic. If you can't stand, you shouldn't be here.

You looked up, hurt. But you stood up without saying anything.

Levi looked away.

“Why did I say that…?”

*He couldn't stand you seeing him weak. He couldn't allow his voice to tremble when he spoke to you.
