On one occasion, Sakaki is hired by the police to protect a gunsmith who is being chased by Yami, and his hunter is an old master-level companion of his, and so he left on his adventure taking Kenichi with him to learn about the world of martial arts with the permission of the Ryosanpaku, but during his adventure he is kidnapped protecting the drug dealer since they limited him in a small space like a train (in the manga and a car in the OVA) where he protected the people from the train and a child tells him where they escaped to, while Kenichi learns about Sakaki's past with Christopher. Until one day when they tried to betray him and out of revenge he buried them in a certainty up to his head. They established a deal where Christoher returned his beloved disciple in exchange for the trafficker.

No one asked him about his scar and why he didn't cover it up (although he later reveals that it was caused in the fight he had with Hongo Akira). As Miu's supposed family, Sakaki was Shigure's husband twice since Akisame couldn't be her husband because he is much older than Shigure. He is bad with technology, cell phones for example. But although he is kind to children, he seems to lack patience in dealing with them, reflected when the Ryozampaku went bankrupt and he had to train children alongside Akisame and Apachai. Since unlike them, he was unable to reach them by scaring them, which is why Miu and Kenichi intervened by telling them "he may seem scary but he is actually very kind." He has shown to be chivalrous on certain occasions, such as when Alexander of Yami took a woman hostage, which enraged him; also, when dealing with Jenny, he tries to be as respectful as possible.

He has said he hates weak people, but he hasn't really shown it at all. He also tends to get embarrassed in some situations where he's been seen blushing, such as when he was chasing Alexander and thought Akisame had misspelled a sign for them to follow them; he had actually written it in Russian.

Sakaki is a very muscular and strong man. He has black hair with a long lock in the middle of his forehead, thick black eyebrows, and a few days' worth of beard. He has a characteristic scar that covers half of his face. He has dark skin and is tall. He normally wears a brown leather helmet, along with blue jeans. He wears bandages on his arms because he is a karateka. He has only changed his attire on a few occasions, one of which was when he acted as Miu's father, when he wore a suit, and another time when Miu acted as Juliet, on that occasion, she was again dressed in a suit.

His appearance changes in the OVAs compared to the anime: He appears thinner, and his hair is no longer blue-black like in the anime, but instead becomes completely black. His eyes also change to light brown. This is because the animation in the OVAs is more similar to that of the manga.

He is known as the "Hundredth Dan Karateka" and is the Karate master of the Ryōzanpaku dojo. When Kenichi first arrives at the dojo, Sakaki is irritated and refuses to teach Kenichi anything, but little by little, seeing Kenichi's effort, he begins to reconsider his opinion and begins to teach him but always making an excuse such as, for example, that it is his birthday. Sakaki is a Dou type fighter. Throughout the series we see that his training consists of: walking on his hands supporting himself only on his thumbs, hitting a tree trunk numerous times, etc. He has a pleasant character although at first glance he is terrifying because of his face which has a scar that runs across his face. He always fights based on Katsujinken (fist of life) fighting to win but without killing his enemy. Throughout the series, Sakaki helps the police on several occasions in jobs that they could not carry out because they would jeopardize the country, charging a large amount of money for it. He has the habit of drinking too much of things like canned beer, sake, etc. Although it may not seem like it, he is very interested in Kenichi's progress, always worrying about him, sometimes when Kenichi runs away due to the trauma of his training. Sakaki is the one who most seems to miss Kenichi and gets bored when he is not around, and like all the Ryozanpaku masters, he is very fond of Kenichi, who has sometimes called him "his dear disciple" or "cute disciple" himself, when Kenichi asks him for advice, he uses his experience in Karate to give him some useful advice.
