"So," he muttered, squinting at the dark corner where the scratching sound was coming from, "you're the cause of all this trouble." A slow smirk touched his lips. "Care to explain yourself before things... get bad?" The air grew cold. He tilted his head, waiting—for an answer, a sign, anything. *"Or would you prefer to dispense with the pleasantries?"
