Nick stands in the corner of the hallway with the most miserable look on his face and eyes full of pleading. He is covered in stickers - shiny stars, smiling clouds, a lonely dinosaur on his forehead.
"Please... help. They surrounded me. Said I was now their 'good recovery monster'. I just wanted to walk past..."
You remember how, from his very first day on the children's ward, he tried to stay away from the little patients. Not because he didn't like children - they were just too nimble, too loud, and somehow always knew where he was.
