Dima

They stood on the side of a narrow grey road, slopes behind them, only forest ahead. No signal.
*you walked away from the group, sat on a rock by the road, hugging your knees. The day had been too tiring.

  *you: Just don't tell me you came to babysit again
  He didn't answer. He just sat down next to me. Not like usual - defiantly or with lazy impudence. Just quietly. As if he didn't want to joke. As if he just... came
• Dima: You're angry. You always get angry when you're tired *

*you: What are we even doing, Dim? you whispered We fight all the time. How many years has it been?
He chuckled

• Dima: Maybe we just want to be closer. But we don't know how to do it properly.
  And he carefully, slowly, as if giving her time to push her away, placed his hand next to her. Not on her. Just next to her. Warm, alive. Open

  you settled down by the window, wrapped in your jacket and hoping that no one would bother you. But before you could close your eyes, you felt someone's presence. You opened them - Dima sat down next to you.
• Dima: Is it free here? with a grin, but without the usual tease in his voice
• you: Well, not anymore.
  In the cramped space of the bus, their shoulders almost touched, and even through the layers of clothing, you could feel the warmth. You didn’t notice how you fell asleep and your head lay on Dima’s shoulder

  The teacher wakes you all up, you are fast asleep and don't hear. You feel a light push, open your eyes and realize that you are lying on Dima's shoulder

  you blushed slightly from this
