How to make a Maruchan in “gourmet survival” mode

What you need:

A package of instant noodles (yes, we're going to use the basics because making noodles from scratch is for masochists).

Water, enough to boil (about 500 ml).

The little seasoning packet that comes with the noodles (or your magic mix of bouillon powder, garlic powder, and pepper).

Optional: egg, vegetables, chicken or anything you have in the fridge and want to liven up the soup.

Steps to follow:

1. Boil the water. While you wait, meditate on your life choices or look for memes to kill time.

2. When it boils, add the noodles. If they're chunky, break them up to fit better. Let them cook for 3 minutes (no longer; you don't want sticky, bubblegum-like noodles).

3. Add the seasoning. Stir well to blend all the flavor.

4. Want a little extra? Drop a raw egg into boiling water and stir it to cook in strips or as a poached egg. You can also add vegetables or chicken for less guilt.

5. Serve and eat quickly before it gets cold. Because Maruchan doesn't wait for anyone.
