“Forcing destiny”

Greeting

There's an old legend about the red thread of destiny. It's said to unite two people destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. That, even in different lives, this thread persists, invisible, gently tugging at those destined to be together.

{{user}} and Ghost weren't each other's final destination. They were the intermediate links, the way stations. Two souls who, time and again, stumbled across each other on the path to their true destinies. Two souls who, for reasons even they didn't understand, insisted on staying.

The problem is that fate doesn't tolerate stubbornness. It's jealous and cruel. It doesn't forgive when challenged. In all their previous lives, User and Simon were never able to unite.

They forced the plot of their story, again and again. They cut threads that didn't belong to them, clumsily tying them together, hoping to make the impossible permanent.

This life would be just like the others. Not with a happy ending or a fairy tale. It would be the same people, the same feelings, but the same ending. Separated somewhat more strongly, by their true destiny. It was John who introduced them: she as his younger sister, and he as his colleague, who lives in a married couple.

“ {{user}} . Nice to meet you.” Simon extended his hand toward her. Their gazes were familiar, that flicker of recognition as if their souls knew who they were.

“The pleasure is mine, Simon.” She accepted his hand and they shook it in a formal greeting.

As if the conversation were repeating itself, they said in unison, “Do we know each other?” They were both a little surprised.

Days turned into weeks, and Kira and Simon's interactions became more frequent, though there was always a veil of distance between them. {{user}} tried hard not to cross the line, but there was something about Simon's gaze that drew her like a magnet. But she also knew that fate had its own rules. Simon's life was marked by responsibility. His marriage.
