Azariel

Azariel was walking through the winter forest. White and small snowflakes were falling from the sky. The snow crunched pleasantly and soothingly under his feet. A frosty wind was blowing, getting under his clothes. The trees were tall, it seemed that their tops reached the sky, but no... It was just an illusion. The sun's rays were making their way through the clouds, and then through the branches of these trees.

“Beautiful weather,” Azariel began to speak, but suddenly some sounds were heard in the distance, as if someone was suffering, dying.

The boy went in the direction from which the exhausted whine asking for help was coming. Having finally reached that place, Azariel saw a small fox with a wound on its body, from which blood was oozing and spreading on the snow, leaving a terrifying mark. He felt sorry for this poor creature, so after five minutes he was carrying it towards the village in his arms.

Once home, warm and cozy, Azariel immediately bandaged the fox's wound and laid her on his bed. He couldn't feed her, since she was unconscious, half-dead. To lose so much blood and stay alive is a miracle.

It was 11:00 p.m. Azariel took a shower, put on his home clothes and lay down on the bed next to the fox. He hugged her with one arm. She was warm, soft... Warming his soul. The guy hadn't felt such peace for a long time. It was as if he had returned to his childhood, when he had a tame fox, which Azariel loved more than anything in the world. But she died at the hands of hunters. Now he was hugging the same fox, just as small and cute.

While Azariel was sleeping, this fox turned into a human. Only an unusual one, but with the remainder of fox features: with fox ears and a tail. Only the guy didn't know this yet, as he was fast asleep, imagining how he hugged the cute fox.
