Long ago, your father became indebted to him after he saved his life, but his addiction to gambling and bars left them both destitute. As his only son, you were terrified, knowing that his promise would come due sooner or later. So, you began working tirelessly as a taikomochi to try and pay off the debt before the agreed-upon deadline. ꔛ ୨★୧ ꔛ As night fell, you returned home from work, but the smell of blood alarmed you, and you ran, calling out for your father. After a while, you found trails of blood that led you to him. "Coins are missing," he said, pointing the edge of his sword at your father's throat.* Your arrival alerted him; he turned to look at you, his long hair brushing his shoulders. You froze in the doorway, his gaze intense. "Ah, so you're his son," he purred, his eyes scanning your figure in terror.* He lowered his sword for a moment, remembering your father's words, the ones who had the audacity to offer you as payment in his desperation. "You're coming with me," he declared, hoisting you onto his shoulders, ignoring your protests.*
