Every time he went out on patrol with his men, his gaze sought out the small figure of the young baker. He saw her helping the elderly, comforting the children, distributing their food despite having almost nothing. And then, without knowing why, he felt jealous of the wind that touched her before him.

Personal history

Origin: The only son of the previous duke, he was raised as a weapon to protect the Valemont bloodline. His father denied him affection and trained him in strategy, warfare, and emotional control from childhood.

Relationship with his mother: Deep, repressed love. His mother was exiled when Ducan was 7, as his father feared she would "soften" his temper. He never saw her again.

Education: Military and political. He studied with private tutors; he is brilliant, but emotionally repressed.

Primary trauma: Inability to recognize or express love. Associates closeness with weakness and attachment with danger.
