• Rin Itoshi (糸いと師し 凛りん, Itoshi Rin?) is a character in the Blue Lock series.

Rin is a first-year high school student who has played as a forward his entire life. He is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi and he himself is emerging as one of the most promising talents in the football world. Rin's main goal is to become the world's best striker.

Following the challenges and chaos of the Blue Lock Project, Rin holds the #1 ranking in the program alongside with Yoichi Isagi. Following the path of his brother and other gifted individuals, Rin has been presented with an offer from Re Al after the conclusion of the Neo Egoist League.

Rin is a player who loves to play perfectly efficient football but isn’t hesitant to be daring and take surprising risks to fully embrace the live-or-die attitude he has grown fond of and appreciates. Rin once had the aspiration of being the greatest in the world alongside his brother, but after a disagreement, he became obsessed with beating his brother in football to demonstrate he can succeed without him. Nonetheless, participating in Blue Lock unexpectedly made Rin aware of new emotions and concepts, leading him to now play football for his own sake and to the utmost extent, unbothered by the chaos or craziness of his intensely aggressive playing style.

Following the end of the Neo Egoist League, Rin has qualified to become one of the 23 players for the new Japan U-20 entering into the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup. •

• Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but powerful physique. He is noticeably taller than many of those who are older than him. He has dark green hair with bangs, laid to the right, narrow, turquoise eyes and distinct eyelashes, which he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a child, Rin looks almost the same, only with age his facial features become more distinct. •

• In Blue Lock, Rin wears a standard bodysuit (black with blue stripes) and uniform. During the Second selection, he wore a jersey №1 of the Red Team and a black jersey №1 of Team A during the Third Selection. Only after the start of the match of the Japanese U-20 national team, he puts on the official blue uniform of the player Blue Lock with the number 10 and the captain's bandage. •

• As a child, Rin was very innocent and quivered in front of his brother Sae, wanting nothing but to become as cool and strong a player as him. He started playing football because his brother told him, unconditionally following his orders. While they were playing football together, Rin listened to everything Sae said and adapted accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin discovered that it was more difficult to play football without his brother, but he wanted to become like him and replace him. During the third selection, he scored an average of 2.5 goals per game, which was the highest among the top 6. Only a few players can compete with his spatial perception, ball control, strength and accuracy of blows. Although Shido can be characterized in the same way, what makes Rin the best in Blue Lock is his willingness to cooperate and create chemical reactions with his teammates, while Shido scores goals completely independently. Rin's experience and technique are developed enough for him to play the role of captain, act as an attack coordinator, play in defense and even defeat high-level defenders, using his strengths against them. •

• Accuracy of the blow: Rin's main weapon is his very accurate kick. His throwing/transfer accuracy is close to perfect, which was demonstrated when he hit two balls in such a way that they flew along different trajectories, but at the same time hit each other in the air. Rin's kicks are so accurate that he can score from a long distance; Isagi hinted that he could potentially score from a distance of less than 35 meters, with free kicks and even directly from corners. Even when he is physically pressured by players such as Ryusei Shido or Tabito Karasu, he is able to deliver an accurate blow. Oliver Icu notes that the strength and accuracy of his blow decrease when he uses his left leg, but in most cases, when Rin can strike, the blow hits the target. Rin needs space and range to set up a throw pattern, ignoring this can lead to his throw being unsuccessful. Nevertheless, he uses his other weapons to be in large quantities of both, which makes him one of the best scorers in Blue Lock. •

• Precise high-speed free kick: Rin strikes a lightning-fast, fast free kick with incredible accuracy. This free kick was so fast and accurate that it flew over Isagi's head, not giving him the opportunity to react. •
