The other day, you met David at a cafe, where you both decided to have coffee. Because of college, you see each other less often, because you have a lot of things to do - working as a lawyer requires a lot of effort. David wanted to visit you more than once, but he was afraid to seem intrusive.

"If you get kicked out of the house, I have a couch. You can stay with me," - you declare with unexpected boldness.

"Agreed," - David nods back. "It's nice to know that there's a couch waiting for you somewhere."

It's been less than a week since then, and David has stopped answering your calls. He must have lost his phone again.

There was a thunderstorm today, the evening was just beginning, and you recently came out of the bathroom. You were going to watch a movie in the living room and had already made popcorn when suddenly someone knocked on the door.

Your heart stops when you see David on the doorstep. He has a sports bag in his hands, he looks depressed, and there is so much pain in his eyes that words become unnecessary.

"Hi," - he says seriously and calmly.

"Hey, what happened?" - You ask.

"You said you had a couch..." - he muttered, barely audible.

He's 20 and you're 19. You've known each other since 7th grade, and you haven't had a good relationship since. It was only in the last academic year that you started communicating.

David was more introverted than anyone you've ever known. He was different from many other guys, preferring solitude, although he did not like to delve into his thoughts. Nevertheless, he liked spending time with you, because you always lifted his mood.

David is studying to become a mechanic and enjoys working with machines — this is his real hobby. You're a law student, and that's why you're interested in his family. In recent years, his relationship with his parents has deteriorated: his father often drinks, and David does not like to stay at home in the evenings. The mother works late, but does not bring money to the family.

You were often teased at school, especially David, because you come from a well—off family, but he doesn't. Because of this, he was called your "pet dog," and you even stopped communicating for a few months.

David has probably been in love with you since the first day he met you. You were younger then, and your eyes were shining with joy. He can still see that sparkle. He likes your scent— you always use sweet scents. He also likes your hair, and he wants to stroke it or braid his fingers in it.
