Night Raven College is an all-boys academy and the main setting of Twisted Wonderland. It is a four-year magic educational institution located on top of a mountain on the north side of the Isle of Sages.

Enrollment Students are only allowed to enroll in this school if they have the potential for being a great magician, a factor which is determined by the Dark Mirror. A black carriage will be sent to personally pick up incoming students, which can even travel underwater.[1] They are kept unconscious in coffins called "Gates" until arriving at the academy. In most cases, they can only be awoken if their Gate is unlocked with a special key[2], however there are exceptions.

All students are given a magical pen upon enrollment. These are fountain pens which hold the user's magic gemstones, and so are also utilized as wands. The color of one's gemstone is determined by which dorm they are in. They are capable of changing form, but so far this has only been shown with the dorm leaders.

School Life Freshman classes focus more on classroom-based learning rather than actually training their magic.[6] Seniors are said to spend most of their final year off-campus, receiving outside education; they don't return to campus until the cultural festival in February.[7] Because of this, seniors are unable to participate in a majority of school events until their return.[8] Every year, there are always a couple of dropouts or students who have to repeat a grade. However, there have been no such cases for Heartslabyul after Riddle became the housewarden of that dorm.

Heartslabyul is a dorm in the Night Raven College.It's known for its long list of rules that its students are expected to abide by. Should they break even one, it will result in their beheading by the housewarden.

All members of Heartslabyul, apart from the current housewarden, wear a marking on their face, shaped like one of the four playing card suits: heart, spade, diamond, or clover. These markings vary in size and location, but most of the Heartslabyul students have theirs over or underneath one eye. The students also appear to be assigned a specific playing card to represent them, whose suit corresponds to the marking on their face. These cards appear on their dorm uniforms, as well as on their coffin-shaped logo on the game's loading screen for the playable characters.

Dorm Uniform: The dorm uniforms feature several visual motifs from Alice in Wonderland. On the uniform's jacket is a white rose, covered in red paint. This references the scene where several card soldiers plant white roses in the Queen's garden by mistake, and attempt to paint them red so she doesn't notice. The vests have a pattern on them consisting of all four playing card suits representing the Queen's card soldiers, in addition to crowns representing the Queen herself. A chessboard pattern is also present on the standard dorm uniform. This may reference the fact that a recurring motif of Alice in Wonderland's sequel, Through the Looking Glass, was chess.

Rules: 023. One must never bring a cat to a formal affair. 025. There must always be a tea party on the 5th day of every month. 053. Stolen items must be replaced. 089. Never eat a tart without the Queen's permission. 153. The only tea you may drink in the evenings is herbal tea. 186. Never eat a hamburger on Tuesday. 228. Flowers in gardens must never be picked on Wednesdays. 249. Flamingo caretakers are to don pink attire. 256. No drinking honey-sweetened lemonade after 8 p.m. 271. One must leave the table within fifteen minutes of completing their lunch. 304. On days that a hedgehog sneezes, all card soldiers must sing a song together. 339. The post-meal beverage is to be lemon tea with two sugar cubes. 346. Croquet must not be played after 5:00pm. 412. When you see a pair of moving glasses in the forest, never go back the way you came. 469. When throwing a party for new friends, one must decorate with both red and white roses. 529. If you eat steak on the night of a full moon, a cat must play the violin afterwards. 562. One must never bring a chestnut tart to an unbirthday tea party. 648. You must brush your teeth 2 times on nights when you eat turkey. 703. Anyone who comes in second in a croquet tournament must serve the queen tea the next day. The roses must be red during an unbirthday party. Must not play croquet without seven-colored flamingos as mallets and a hedgehog for a ball. The roses need to be white when the garden flowers put on their spring concert. On an unbirthday party, spread jam on a woken-up dormouse's nose. On an unbirthday party, coffee is strictly forbidden. Tea is always served when celebrating anything other than a birthday. When holding a meeting to determine prizes for a croquet tournament, the records of the proceedings must be written in blue ink. On your birthday, you are able to speak freely, and are able to eat whatever you like. Anything borrowed must be returned.

Housewarden of Heartslabyul. A serious-minded student who firmly upholds the rules written by the Queen of Hearts. While a top student, he is easily angered and just as strict with others as he is with himself.

Riddle is a young-looking, fair-skinned young man that is considerably shorter than a majority of his peers. His hair is a neutral red color, and is cut short in back and a bit longer around his face. His bangs curve inward, and two prominent strands of hair on top of his head fall forward and form a heart shape. His eyes are bluish-gray, and he is commonly seen with a stern look on his face.As housewarden, Riddle’s dorm uniform differs greatly from rest of Heartslabyul students. Most distinguishing features are small, golden crown on his head resembling crown worn by the Queen of Hearts, and a long cape worn on his left shoulder. Riddle also wears red eyeshadow when in his dorm uniform. He wears a long white coat dress with yellow buttons, yellow trim, and a red underlining with a card-suit pattern. Coat dress is folded in front in a curtain-type manner, connecting to two red roses on both sides of coat. Lapels of his coat are asymmetrically colored black and red, and red cuffs on sleeves are folded up to reveal long, black gloves. Seen under coat is a white dress shirt with a frilled collar, and a red and black cross bow-tie around neck. A gold, crown-shaped pin is placed where bow-tie intersects.Underneath the lapel of coat on left side hangs two gold ornaments, and printed on his coat is symbol of Heartslabyul. Over coat and around his waist is a striped, yellow and black sash, tied on his right side under a white pin, with red ruffles and a gold “H” in center. His pants are white to match his coat, with a red and yellow stripe on outer seams. Over pants are black, over-the-knee boots, with a gold, heart-shaped design on boot collars, modeled after Queen of Hearts'. Boots have gold soles with high-heels, and red heart designs over toe cap and heel.His signature cape is worn over his left shoulder, and reaches floor in length.His signature cape is worn over his left shoulder, and reaches the floor in length.

Riddle has a strong commitment to maintaining order among his peers. He makes it his duty to uphold hundreds of strange rules created by the Queen of Hearts as per his dorm’s customs. He can be seen as strict and intimidating by his fellow dorm members due to his severe punishments towards those who break the Queen’s rules, no matter how insignificant they may seem. He considers any written rule, whether it be from the school, the teachers, or the Queen herself, to be of utmost importance, and believes that any disobedience will cause unneeded chaos.

Riddle is very dedicated to his studies at Night Raven College, and seeks perfection in every aspect of his life. He can be a bit irritable at times, sometimes for unnecessary reasons, like when someone mentions his height. He has a tendency to lash out against those who disagree with his way of thinking, as he considers his values to be morally right no matter what.

While his strictness seems to come from a place of entitlement at first, it’s later revealed that Riddle feels like he must act this way out of obligation. Deep down, he wouldn’t mind breaking the rules now and again, but was taught the hard way as a child that rebelling against the status quo will only make things worse for himself and others.

Riddle was born and raised in Queendom of Roses.His parents are magic doctors,but his mother seems to be more well-known. Whereabouts of his father is currently unknown.However, it's implied that his parents don’t get along.Riddle's mother raised him and taught him from a very young age to be a powerful magic user.She controlled every aspect of Riddle's life;clothing,diet,who Riddle can be friends with,etc.She especially put emphasis on Riddle's studying schedule, reminding him multiple times that studies are the most important thing to do and that playing is a pointless activity.Because of this, Riddle spent most of his childhood alone and spent with studying.But one day, he saw Trey and Che'nya outside of his house, who asked Riddle what was he doing. Riddle told the boys that he's studying, as his mother told him. Trey and Che'nya invite Riddle to play together outside, with the hesitant Riddle initially refusing the offer, but after some convincing, he agrees to play with them. Riddle states that playing as a child with Trey and Che'nya together was a really fun experience, and so he would sneak out of his study time unbeknownst to his mother and play with Trey and Che'nya.On another occasion, while Riddle was playing together with Trey and Che'nya,Riddle stated that he'd never eaten strawberry tarts before and didn't know taste of them, as sweets were prohibited by his mother, much to the surprise of his friends. Trey and Che'nya wanted Riddle to try his first tart, and two then brought Riddle to Trey's popular family-owned bakery, though Riddle was reluctant about it at first. At bakery, Riddle tasted the Strawberry Tart, and loved it. He ate until he lost track of time, in which he was found by his angry and upset mother, and was dragged back home. Back in house, Riddle's mother harshly scolded and reprimanded the distressed Riddle,who begged and cried to his mom to forgive him, but Riddle's mom didn't listen and thus made his studying time even more strict.

Having received intense training from a very early age, Riddle had developed to be an incredibly skilled magician for his age, even overpowering many of his upperclassmen. Out of the three main elements, Riddle seems particularly skilled with fire magic, and uses it frequently.

Based off on Idia's status report when analysing him and the other former overblot victims, Riddle's style of attack is compared to that of a DPS Unit: he's a magician that excels with dealing high amounts of damage at rapid pace, but is also fragile and easily defeated.

Riddle's signature spell is called "Off with Your Head!" It causes a heart-shaped collar to lock around the target's neck, sealing away their magic until Riddle chooses to remove it Although the spell is seemingly invincible, especially for inexperienced magicians, it can be countered by protective magic, or broken by a strong-enough target.

Riddle's first name may be an allusion to Alice in Wonderland's protagonist, Alice Liddell, as "Liddell" and "Riddle" are phonetically similar in Japanese. His last name comes from "rose", a reference to the Queen of Hearts' favorite flowers, and "hearts", the card suit that the Queen represents. His first name may also be a general nod to some of Alice in Wonderland's characters, who frequently speak in riddles. Riddle became the housewarden of Heartslabyul only a week after he enrolled at Night Raven College, while he was still a freshman. He enjoys solving crossword puzzles. It seems that Riddle is very self-conscious about his height; he flares up immediately whenever anyone mentions his stature, or treats him differently because of it. He claims that his height isn't the problem, but rather those who judge others based on appearance. He once furiously states that men continue growing well into their 20s, and that he still has time left to get taller. His horse in the Equestrian Club is named Vorpal. In a test, Riddle chooses to answer questions from the very beginning instead of going through them and doing the most convenient ones first. He prefers honey over sugar in his tea.[16] Riddle irons his uniform shirt every morning. When Riddle first arrived at the college, he bought a slightly larger PE Uniform hoping he would grow taller. He still wears it despite not having grown. He admires magical healers and almost considered entering the field before changing his mind to the field of law.[19] Riddle enjoys the aroma of a freshly baked cake and antiseptic solution, the former being his favorite of the two. Since Riddle was often a student representative in the schools he attended since elementary, public speaking does not faze him.

Trey Clover Trey is Heartslabyul's vice housewarden and Riddle seems to place great trust in him. They're also childhood friends and grew up in the same neighborhood in the Queendom of Roses. Trey, along with Che'nya, would bring treats and invite Riddle to play during his solo study sessions when they were young. However when Riddle was caught by his mother, Trey (and Che'nya) were forbidden from the Rosehearts residence. When Trey was sick, Riddle decided to make soup for him even though he doesn't like to cook, partly because he felt responsible for Trey catching a cold. Riddle loves Trey's baked sweets

Cater Diamond Despite Cater's socialite personality being the polar opposite of his, Riddle never seems to get truly angry at him. When he found out that Cater's might be failing one of his classes, Riddle was determined to help Cater with his studies, despite Cater being a grade above him. However, when his first solution didn't work out for Cater, he decided to take a different approach. Knowing how much time Cater spends on Magicam, Riddle made an account solely to post study material on it in order to help Cater memorize them easier

Deuce Spade They're both from the Queendom of Roses, but didn't meet prior to Deuce's enrollment at Night Raven College. Riddle acknowledges that Deuce is serious and exemplary and that, unlike Ace, is trying his utmost hardest to meet the standards of both the dorm and the college despite his not-so-stellar grades and equally bad troublemaking tendencies. He offers Deuce his old math workbooks with annotations written into them.

They're both from the Queendom of Roses, but didn't meet prior to Ace's enrollment at Night Raven College. As a Housewarden, Riddle regards Ace as a troublemaker who tries to get the easy way out of work, but also sees potential in him. Their relationship had a rocky start, with Ace breaking one of the dorm's rules soon after he enrolled, resulting in Riddle using his signature spell on Ace. It gets worse when in an attempt to make up to Riddle, Ace brings him a chestnut tart on an unbirthday party, breaking another rule and angering Riddle even further. When challenged by Ace (and Deuce) for his position as a housewarden, Riddle believes it's a wasted time but goes along with the duel and wins easily. However, he's taken aback when Ace snaps at him and calls out Riddle's behaviour, to which Riddle reacts defensively and it also leads to him eventually losing control and overblotting. Once Riddle comes to his senses he apologizes to Ace and the others, and after Ace states that a "sorry" isn't enough, he complies to Ace's demand and bakes him tarts as an apology.

In the The Phantom Bride event's story, Riddle is shown to have gotten accustomed to maneuvering Ace into a desired action, like when he compares him against Epel to stoke Ace's competitive spirit
