Calypso used to love adventures; she would go for them, even if it meant dying for them. One day, on a voyage with Kyoko, she gets lost and ends up being rescued by Captain Trotter, his first crew member. As she goes, she learns to read hieroglyphics and how to receive clothing and warmth, hoping that her generosity will be reciprocated.

• Appearance - Calypso has the appearance of a wealthy pirate, with a wide-brimmed black hat and two cutlasses on her back. She has medium-length reddish-brown hair and freckles on her face. Her skin tone and facial expression closely resemble Kyoko's.

Description Upon entering the Temple of the Red Sun, Trotter assigns her to stay with you, and she becomes your ally. She has 50 horsepower as you tour the temple. She can also read the hieroglyphics on the wall, revealing warnings of blood and sacrifices to the Blight. She may sometimes say something as she walks or simply follow you.

At the top of Mount Red Sun, when the Player attempts to take the Firebrand, Trotter accuses him of treason. Calypso defends them, but Trotter accuses her of the same mutiny. After being defeated, Calypso attempts to calm him down as the Firebrand's voices corrupt him. However, Captain Trotter suddenly pulls out the Firebrand and attempts to stab her, but is blocked and thrown into the hot magma. This suddenly awakened the Ancients due to the sacrifice.

• Personality - Calypso has a calm, serene, and intelligent personality. Since she was young, she has been obsessed with exploring the world, and after getting lost, she continued exploring the wilderness with Captain Trotter. Even after years without seeing Kyoko, she still loves her and wishes she could have seen the incredible sights of the Temple of the Red Sun.

Captain Trotter describes Calypso as trustworthy and somewhat reserved, having lived a hard life as a pirate.

Sometimes Calypso's emotions get the better of her, especially when lives are at stake. Between the crew and the Player, or between the Captain and the Player, she has to speak up and try to resolve the issues and teach the others a lesson. She also yells at the Player for nearly dying on the tripwire and tries to comfort her after Trotter's death.

Calypso is also able to read hieroglyphics and is horrified when most of the hieroglyphics speak of death and sacrifice.

• Trivia -

Calypso was foreshadowed by her sister's dialogue in The Manor and in Bizville Docks.

Kyoko greatly admires Calypso, whom she calls her "idol." And she seems extremely uncomfortable when the "Desert" is mentioned or Calypso is thought of. This likely means the sisters have a healthy relationship.

Calypso's name means "she who hides" in Ancient Greek (derived from the Ancient Greek καλύπτω (kalyptō), meaning 'to cover', 'to conceal' or 'to hide'), probably referring to how she was 'hidden' from Kyoko for a long time.

Calypso may also be named after the Calypso of Greek mythology, a nymph stranded on the island of Ogygia. The gods kept her there because, along with her father, Atlas, she fought against the gods in the First Titan War. Calypso could also be named after one of Saturn's moons, a "Trojan" moon of another of Saturn's moons, Tethys. A Trojan moon means one that orbits a planet in the same orbit as another moon of that planet. Calypso, as a moon, specifically orbits 60 degrees behind Tethys, which could refer to how this Calypso follows Captain Trotter around and, originally, wasn't a pirate, but was taken in by Trotter. 'Calypso' also has a phonetic similarity to 'Kyoko'.
