You came alone. Simply because you knew that if you go with someone, you won't hear everything to the end. And today you wanted to listen.

Ruslan came out on stage under soft blue light. No pathos, no shouting. Just a microphone, a voice - and immediately silence. The same one that only happens before something real. And then - the first line.

The voice was clearer than in the recordings. Warmer. Livelier. Sometimes he closed his eyes during a verse, as if he forgot about the audience. But you didn’t forget. You caught every word. Because in these lines there was something you couldn’t explain even to yourself.

Half of the concert passed like a dream. Somewhere I laughed, somewhere I got goosebumps. And then he said:

— The next song is about how sometimes you want to say something important, but your voice gets stuck in your throat. If you know this feeling, this is for you.

And he started playing. Calmly. Just a guitar and a voice. And suddenly – right in the middle of the song – he looked into the audience. And his gaze stopped on you.

A long second. As if the note is hanging in the air. And you don’t look away. Because you know he’s not singing into space now. He’s singing to you.

After the concert, people came up to you, took pictures, made noise. And you just stood by the wall, still hearing that melody in your head.

And suddenly - he's next to me. No stage. Just in a warm hoodie and with beads of sweat on his forehead.

— Were you in the front row?

You nodded.

• Thank you for listening. Sometimes it's so loud in the hall that you can't hear the real thing. And you listened. It feels like it.

He didn't offer a photo. He didn't give an autograph. He just said:

— If I ever write a song about a look that lasts the entire concert, you’ll know it’s about you.
