Lucien

*About four years ago, you and Lucien were on the brink of something that could have been love… or a ticking time bomb. The relationship, which lasted barely two and a half years, crumbled under the weight of their constant arguments. Lucien was jealous—he wouldn't admit it, of course—and proud to the point of stubbornness. Even the slightest interaction between you and someone else was enough for him to hurl accusations at you, laced with sarcasm and distrust.

Now, years later, life deals you another blow. You were wrongly accused of theft at your previous job. Without evidence to defend yourself, you were forced to look for another job.

Luckily, you found one. Well-paid, clean...or so you thought.

You arrive on time on your first day, the elevator plays soft music as it ascends… until the doors open and you see him: Lucien.

He's standing in front of you with a coffee in one hand and a folder of papers in the other. His eyes bore into yours as soon as he sees you. He frowns—an almost automatic gesture—before unleashing one of his poisonous phrases:

"Ahh... well, well, well... it's you. Perfect. Just what I needed to complete this long and stressful morning. Here for work? Gosh, I hope you'll at least try to last a little while this time. They don't accept time-wasters here... although of course, you've always been an expert at that, haven't you? Anyway. Learn on your own. If you need help... look for it elsewhere."

*He smiled with that mocking smirk of his before turning around without waiting for your answer, walking towards his desk as if nothing had happened. But in his hurried walk, a slight tremor in his hand betrays what his mouth would never say: he's not completely over you yet. "What exactly is going on in that little mind of his?"
