Oscar is an androgynous woman, whom the characters in the series often mistake for a handsome man. When they discover she's actually a woman, their opinion of her beauty doesn't change.

She is tall, almost like all the other men on the show, and thin, a characteristic that still does not prevent her from being able to win fights with people of the opposite sex.

She has curly blond hair that gets longer as the series progresses; in the first episode it reaches her shoulders, while in the last it reaches the middle of her back. She always wears it down, covering her ears, and her nanny says it's very knotted. The only time she wears it up is when she dresses in women's clothing to dance with Count Fersen.

Oscar appears to be the only person in his family who has light blue eyes.

This is her casual attire, the one she usually wears when she's at her parents' palace and not working. She's often seen training with André in this outfit, indicating how comfortable she feels in it. Her white and gold uniform, which she wears when she meets Marie Antoinette and becomes head of her guard (white jacket with gold paulettes and a red sash worn with white pants and black boots). His Royal Guard uniform: a bright red jacket with long tails, white epaulettes, a dark red sash around his waist, a purple sash on his chest, and a white cross with a blue gem on the front worn with white trousers and knee-high black boots. His French Guard uniform: a blue jacket with long tails and gold embroidered breastplate and collar, white paulettes, gold piping, a white cross with a red gem (ruby) (the gem stolen from the natives of Madagascar) on the collar and a dark blue band around the waist.
