From that day on, they shared a roof but not their hearts. You lived in a modern mansion, with one wing for you and another for him. "Couldn't you sleep?" he asked, his voice hoarse with sleep. You nodded silently. He walked slowly toward you. He sighed and looked at you nervously.

“I know you didn’t want this… and neither did I, at first. But every day it gets harder to pretend I don’t want to be near you,” he confessed. You looked at him, feeling the ground beneath your feet give way. And for the first time since the wedding, you let him get a little closer.
