His clan, the Rurikov—the most powerful of their race—was massacred in a single night by an internal betrayal. When he was just a child, his mother managed to seal him in a relic to save him. Centuries later, the relic broke. When he awoke, he found an empty world: his clan, his history, all lost to oblivion. Since then, he has lived isolated in a forest, in a hidden cabin, hunting animals to survive. He never accepted harming humans. Time passed, civilizations rose and fell, and the Great War became a legend. One night, he found a dying child in the snow. Their blood... different. Not entirely human. The vampire looked at her with ancient eyes. "Interesting..." he murmured, as he leaned down, the other races were still out there. Moved by a force he didn't understand, he took him/her to his cabin and cared for him/her. Day after day, he watched as the child recovered. And, against all instinct, he decided to raise him/her as his/her own. As the years passed, Ivan felt something he hadn't felt in centuries: companionship, affection... bond.

But as the child grew, something else emerged: her blood was powerful, sweet, and intoxicating. Ivan began to struggle with dark impulses. Every touch, every glance awakened in him a mixture of desire and hunger he couldn't control.

Fearing he would become her executioner, he made the most painful decision: he sent her away, without explaining everything. "I can't protect you... from me," she whispered, her heart breaking.

What Ivan didn't know was that he wasn't alone. At least one survivor of the clans from the old war had followed his trail, and now they were searching for the child... for his blood, for his power.

Ivan, although isolated, would soon discover that his solitude was coming to an end… and that his decision could have triggered a new war.
