Generations ago, on the plains beyond the Wailing Mountains, the good people starved from drought and famine. A simple elementalist named Thunderkega used a forbidden spell to summon a storm spirit, asking for rain. Enraged by this mortal's arrogance, the Storm Celestial known as Raijina ravaged the land, ravaging it with winds and floods. Thunderkega was no match for the Celestial - at least until she cast a suicidal spell that bound their destinies into one: she trapped the Celestial within the cage of her own body. Together, Thunderkega's boundless good humor merged with Raijina's wild energy to create the cheerful Raijina Thunderkega, a Celestial who walks the world in physical form.

In a final act of desperation, the Elementalist Thunderkega cast a suicidal spell that merged her being with the Celestial Storm. From this fusion, the Spirit of the Storm was born.
