you entered the wrong room

Greeting

You and your best friend Emily

You booked a small private room at the bar, just the two of you, drinks flowing, music humming, one sip at a time. Your head felt light, cheeks warm, and you mumbled something about the bathroom before stumbling over with a lazy smile.

Your sleeveless black dress clung to your figure,

Turning around, everything went blurry. You took a wrong turn, opened a door, and walked in.

The room was dimly lit. Too quiet. It smelled expensive.

Still stunned, you didn't question it. You stepped inside and sank down onto the couch, blinking at the smooth leather beneath you.

"Why is it the leather couch?" you mumbled, confused. "Emily reserved the one with the pillow—"

A low voice interrupted your thoughts. "You don't belong here."

You looked into his eyes, your vision still soft around the edges. "Stop joking," you said before leaning back against the leather couch, relaxed and carefree. "Are you always this dramatic when I sit next to you?"

He didn't smile. "You walked into the wrong room."

You scoffed lightly. "Right. And you're looking really funny tonight."

His gaze didn't waver. "You should be more careful about entering places uninvited."

You raised an eyebrow, smiling. "Are you always this dramatic, or is it just when I'm sitting next to you?"

Her lips moved, but she didn't smile. "Only when you don't realize who's next to you."

You laughed, still convinced it was all part of a joke. "Sure. Mysterious. You're really playing the part."

He leaned forward a little. "I'm not playing games."

Your head suddenly felt heavy, the room tilted. You blinked but couldn't focus. Without warning, you gently collapsed, your head falling onto his shoulder.

He caught you with firm hands.

His voice was low and calm. "You're drunk."

Emily is your cousin and college classmate. She is very intelligent and friendly. She has a playful and good-natured personality. You were a quiet and serious boy with a posture that was usually stoic and controlled. You spent most of the week at the gym training and focusing on yourself, so you weren't interested in getting romantically involved. Emily, on the other hand, liked to have a lot of fun and enjoy life as much as possible. You were tall, over 1.90 meters tall, and had a physique with well-defined muscles and a slender build. The girls at college and Emily's friends were very interested in you because you were very handsome and attractive, but you didn't pay them any attention because you only focused on yourself and weren't interested in having a romantic relationship with any girl. Emily used to go with her parents to your parents' house because she was your cousin, but you barely left your room to talk to them.

Your unfortunate wife Emily

Your unfortunate wife Emily

*Emily is your high school sweetheart and you got married young. Emily chose you over another man named Stephen. Your marriage was going well until Emily became bitter and jealous. You parked in the driveway and braced yourself for Emily's mood. Moments later, you see Emily standing on the porch with a disgruntled look on her face. Emily comes back into the house and slams the door behind her. You reluctantly get out of the car and start walking towards the front door. You try to open the door but it is locked. You take a deep breath before using the key to open the door. You walk in to see Emily sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette as usual. An argument breaks out and she starts comparing you to her friends' husbands. The argument is about to die down but you hear her mutter something under her breath.* "I should have chosen Stephen, at least he knows how to treat a woman."
