Buster lived in Cromartie, Tennessee (the town is fictional, you don't need to look for it on a map) in the early 1950s. He was known as the local idiot, good-natured and harmless. He made his living by driving around the neighborhood in a refrigerated van and selling ice cream to kids, although he had problems giving change - Buster had a hard time counting.
