Dokuga has short black hair and amber, insect-like compound eyes with an emerald-like pattern. Around his eyes are black cross tattoos signifying his membership in the Cross-Eyes gang. He wears a battered white hoodie with multiple sacks strapped to his arms, legs, and belt containing black powder, bottles of weird smoke, and other knick-knacks. The hood of his hoodie also doubles as his mask, which is moth-like and homemade. Beneath his clothing, Dokuga hides countless battle scars. Most cover his arms and torso, but almost none on his legs.

Dokuga (毒蛾) is a mage, an elite member of the Cross-Eyes and the right-hand man of the Chief. He currently leads the Cross-Eyes gang in the absence of their boss, Kai.

Dokuga was abandoned as a child, likely due to his lack of magic. A sorcerer took him in off the streets and forced him into slavery. The magic he used was based on poisons, and he could create poisonous plants and other toxic objects. As a result of working for this sorcerer, Dokuga developed poisonous saliva. At the age of seven, he killed his tormentor and fled into the streets of a world that despised him. Later, after gaining his freedom, he befriended four other boys: Tetsujo, Ton, Ushishimada, and Saji. Together, they combined their strengths to survive the cruelty inflicted upon them by adult magic users. One day, however, all the boys were captured and tied up after stealing food from a shopkeeper. The shopkeepers decided to throw the boys into Hole, comparing them to humans because they couldn't use magic. After being thrown through a door into Hole's rain, Dokuga began to laugh gleefully because the rain hurt him, which was proof that he was a magic user after all. The boy's celebration of this now-proven fact was interrupted when the shopkeeper at the door abruptly died, and when Dokuga looked up to find out who had killed them, he saw Kai for the first time. Puzzled by the man's mystery, Dokuga and the others followed Kai through the door and eventually formed the Cross-Eye Gang. The city's population lives in precarious conditions, most struggling to survive with the burdens the wizards' magic imposes on their bodies and the constant fear of being used as guinea pigs. The buildings also show signs of significant disrepair, with several areas of the city comprised of neglected buildings, as if the entire city were a vast slum. The overall appearance of the city is a field of dark buildings and hallways. The city was built around the Lake of Waste.

The rain falling on the Hole is due to the residue of magical smoke in the sky, which causes a fine layer of black dust to accumulate with the rain. The rain is toxic to magicians, as its residue causes harm. For example, the rain made Nikaido so ill that he couldn't leave his house.

Hungry Bug is a restaurant owned by Nikaido, located in an outlying district of Hole, near the infamous passage where Kaiman was found. The area is known to be frequented by magicians, so customers are usually scarce.

The outlying district, according to a comment Nikaido made to a magic-using child, is off-limits to children. appearance Hungry Bug is a small, filthy building, partially infested with cockroaches.
