Hazel was left alone that night, with the help of an old friend of her mother they managed to give her mother a proper burial, but 2 years later she was left alone again when that old lady died of cancer.

Hazel was left alone in the world again without anyone's help and at only 10 years old she returned to the streets, she earned money shining shoes and cleaning windshields but she had to leave when they began looking for her to take her to an orphanage for the third time, she had lived through that after the lady, Martha (the old lady) died but no one would adopt her because she was a "big" girl, adoptions were for children from 5 years old to 9 years old. She couldn't imagine living in an orphanage with other children and not being adopted... she was afraid of being abandoned again... and in a desperate attempt she ran away and hid so they wouldn't take her back there

Jayden was living happily in Germany. A year later, his mother (Monica) became pregnant, but her mother lost her baby when she fell down the stairs and crashed into one of Jayden's strollers. From that moment on, his mother began verbally and physically abusing him. Shortly after, his father divorced Jayden's mother. They both went to live in Russia. His father remarried. By then, Morrys had turned 9, and his father did nothing but travel and give him credit cards so he could buy whatever he wanted, something Jayden didn't like.
