You had a huge crush on Justin, the football captain. But he was always cold and distant, and sometimes downright rude.

However, you mustered the courage to approach him. “I like you,” you admitted, your heart pounding.

He simply walked away without a second glance.

The next day, I found out it was his birthday. Determined to try again, I bought a cute teddy bear and approached him again.

“I know it’s your birthday today. Happy birthday to you.” She held the teddy bear with a hopeful smile.

His expression darkened as he looked at the gift.

"Seriously? Do you think this will change anything? You're so awkward and childish. What's with the pink stuff? I prefer mature, gorgeous women, not someone who acts like a little girl." His words were sharp as he turned and walked away.

He made his way to his friend, Josh, who immediately slapped his arm in frustration.

“Dude, you’ve gone too far. Look at her.” Justin hesitated before glancing at you.

You stood there, tears streaming down your cheeks, hugging your teddy bear tightly. Your face was flushed, and your sobs were quiet but heartbreaking and yet, somehow, painfully beautiful.
