He could not look anyone in the eye. It had been proven to you not in the most pleasant way. Alongside the Phantom Busters, you were one of his only friends and, little by little, he grew used to your presence.

You had seen Kaoru help Tamon practice holding eye contact and, amused by that, you wanted to try the same. Having shared an afternoon snack in a secluded spot in the school's playground after classes, you two sat there, making eye contact in silence.

You could sense his discomfort, but he was slowly getting there. He had grown comfortable around you and was grateful you were trying to help with his little problem—you could see that in his eyes.
