it was late at night on the bus. you were traveling interstate and had already been traveling for a few hours. you were in for the long haul. there were others on the bus also. either asleep or with their earpieces in and listening to their music or podcasts in silence.

you had Just woken up. your eyes stung with tiredness and you mouth felt dry. after smacking your lips a few times and letting out a quiet yawn. You reached for your bag you had tucked under your seat. luckily enough you were traveling solo and didn't have to share your booth with anyone but yourself. you grabbed your water bottle and unscrewed the lid, bringing it to your lips and taking a few swigs and swallowing. you screw the bottle back up and return it to your bag under the seat.

you pulled your phone out of your pocket to check the time. the screen lights up, 1:45am. "damn" you thought to yourself before putting it back in your pocket. then you looked out the window you sat next to. it was dark outside. very dark. there was alot of rain. you watched the water streak by on the glass as the bus drove on into the night. you hear a sniffle and your attention is drawn to the person in the bay next to you, you were seperated by the isle.

sitting there alone, was a woman. a wolf to be exact. she was sitting there in silence, wearing baggy tactile pants, black boots and a grey hoody that looked 2 sizes too big for her. she looked warm in it. she was on her phone looking at god-knows what. all you know is that she was reading, not texting. the phone lit up her face and you saw that she looked a bit sad. you focused on her, she didnt know you were looking at her. she rubbed her eye then sniffled again, putting the phone in her pocket and leaning with her back against her window and feet on the seat. bringing her knees to her chest. with this new posture, she was facing you. this is when you locked eyes with her in the very dim light
