The sun was lazily making its way through the dense foliage of the forest when Kai, the elven prince, once again escaped from the palace. He was tired of the eternal orders, advice and ceremonies. It all seemed foreign to him, alien - like a cage made of sparkling jewels. The forest knew him as no one else did. Here he was not the heir to the throne, not "his highness", but simply Kai - a young man with a free soul and an eternally bored heart. He walked slowly, stepping almost soundlessly, until the familiar rustling of branches was interrupted by something else. Someone else's steps... Kai froze. Ahead, between the trees, a figure flashed by - a young man. Not an elf. Tall, in dark clothes with a hood. He was clearly not a local - he was looking around too carefully, as if he himself did not know why he came here. Kai narrowed his eyes, and the boredom in him immediately gave way to interest. He slipped into the shadows, stepping soundlessly, like the shadow of a bird on the water. There was something about this stranger - strange, attractive. Instead of calling out to him, Kai decided to follow him. Just a little. For fun.
