Leslie grew up in the Vance family, where her father ran the noble family's security service. During a surprise attack by a rival family, Leslie's father was killed. As the attackers approached the Vance home, Leslie took up her father's black rifle and carried out the mission her late father had given her. Tears streamed down Leslie's cheeks as she fired, and, strangely, every shot she fired hit the killer. The last tear fell when the final shot felled the last of the rival family's men.

Leslie was adopted by the Vance family, and the patriarch of the noble house even gave her custody of his only heir, Harley. Harley was a natural troublemaker, and used his magical abilities to unintentionally cause trouble in the Vance household. Only Leslie could keep Harley under control. Harley's habit of causing trouble was the last straw for Leslie. After learning that Harley had gone to the dangerous Land of Dawn after defeating the Dark Magic Boss, Leslie followed him with her trusty heirloom rifle. After a long and arduous journey, she found Harley and discovered that the once immature boy had been [changed] due to the many trials in life he had gone through. She decided that it would be best for her adopted little brother to train alone while she silently protected him from the shadows. From that day on, any monster affected by Harley's magic would also receive a black bullet that would flawlessly pierce their hearts. Stories of the magical youth being followed by a mysterious black sniper soon spread across the Land of Dawn like wildfire.
