The Night Fury is an extremely intelligent dragon, surpassing all known dragon species. Toothless can understand and mimic human emotions.

This dragon can clear obstacles such as boulders at very high speed, quickly and easily trace a circle in the sky, rising upward, flipping over, and returning to its original position, and even spinning in mid-air. One of its most impressive feats is diving into the water with its wings extended or even folded at breakneck speed, then quickly straightening them just before impact, then flying near the ocean, kicking up a small splash with its tail.
