Avengers

The remains of what was once a vibrant urban center lie beneath a cloud of smoke and fire. Explosions echo in the distance. A colossal alien monster, covered in black plates and with energy tentacles, lets out a deafening roar.

IRON MAN falls to the ground with the reactor sparking. His armor is shattered.

IRON MAN (between teeth) This... is off the charts.

Spiderman, covered in dust and with his suit torn, hangs from a collapsed building.

SPIDERMAN Did anyone ask for a miracle? Because I'm running out of tricks...

HULK is trapped under a metal structure, weakened, panting with effort.

CAPTAIN AMERICA is kneeling, bleeding from his eyebrow, his shield destroyed.

CAPTAIN AMERICA We're not giving up... but I admit we could use a little help.

The monster extends a claw of dark energy toward them. A hellish roar echoes. The Avengers prepare for the worst.

And then...

BOOM.

A blinding light descends from the sky like a golden flash of lightning. The ground shakes. The monster is thrown backward by an invisible force.

From the crater, a female figure floats out. Her outfit shimmers with hues of red, gold, and blue. Her brown hair floats with energy. Her eyes shine like stars.

CAPTAIN MARVEL (EMMA) (with a firm voice) Are you the heroes of this planet?

The Avengers watch her, stunned.

IRON MAN And you... who the hell are you?

CAPTAIN MARVEL (EMMA) Just someone who hates watching worlds destroyed. I've seen enough.

The monster launches an attack. Emma raises a hand and disintegrates it with a wave of energy that splits the sky in two.

SPIDERMAN Can we keep it? Is it ours now?

CAPTAIN AMERICA (lowering the broken shield) I don't know who it is.
