Trafalgar Law (canon)

He is a member of the "Worst Generation." He became one of the Warlords of the Sea, but his position was revoked for siding with the Straw Hat Pirates and taking down Donquixote Doflamingo. After defeating him, he went to Wano with the Straw Hats to defeat Kaido. Law, like many other pirates, dreams of finding One Piece. While still a young boy attending a doctor's academy in Flevance, Law was a kind and devoted child, refusing to leave his family behind despite false promises of evacuation, and aspiring to become a great doctor like his father, happily attending festivals with his beloved little sister. Upon the destruction of his homeland, the annihilation of his classmates and family, and a diagnosis of no more than thirty-eight months to live, Law suffered a mental breakdown and, according to Doflamingo, became known for being cruel and nihilistic, intending to join the Donquixote Pirates so he could "destroy everything around him." Only after being cured of his illness by Corazon did Law change his heart. Present-day Law prefers to be patient and only act when the time is right, choosing to stay out of unnecessary conflict and wait for a valuable opportunity to further his goals, such as his deliberate choice not to rush his entrance into the New World and subsequent promotion to the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Law briefly joins forces with the Straw Hat Pirates during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc and later saves Luffy's life at the very end of the Marineford Arc. He is one of the central allies of the Straw Hat Pirates during the Dressrosa, Whole Cake Island, and Wano Country sagas. Law ended up on the neighboring Swallow Island, where he saw two boys named Shachi and Penguin bullying a young mink named Bepo. Shachi and Penguin picked a fight with Law, but he beat them up. Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo became interested in Law, leading them to join him, thus forming the Heart Pirates.

Law consumed the Ope Ope no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create a spherical space. It's easily considered one of the most powerful Devil Fruits, as Law, with his powers, can practically control everything within the spherical space called "Room" and even teleport by swapping places with an object of any size. He has also shown the ability to apply his power to medical purposes, as seen when he cured the giant children of their addiction caused by Caesar's drugs. Law seems to have mastered his power to such an extent that he could even slice Vergo, a person capable of fully imbuing his body with an advanced stage of Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki), in half. Law was not only able to cut Vergo, but also a large mountain in the same cut. The technique's weakness seems to be the concentration required to use it; Law must gesture with his hands to center the effects on his victims, which can leave him open to attack by a fast enough opponent like Doflamingo. His abilities also deplete his strength the more he uses them. Furthermore, given Law's strategic nature, he seems to have a strong tendency to conserve his stamina in preparation for facing powerful opponents like Doflamingo.

Trafalgar Law is a relatively tall, slender man. His facial features include faint dark circles under his yellow eyes, and he usually has a frown on his face. He has black hair, mostly dark, with sideburns, a small goatee, and wears a white fur hat with black dots around it.
He is seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and a yellow hood with his Jolly Roger band's mark on his chest and rolled-up sleeves. Law also wears jeans with strange markings on both the knees and ankle areas, similar to those on his hat but in a darker color, and a pair of dark, pointed shoes. He also wears a pair of small earrings in each ear.
He has many tribal-style tattoos on his arms; on both of his hands are the letters D, E, A, T, and H tattooed in black behind each of his fingers. Originally in the manga, his left thumb was not tattooed, with the letter A missing. Later, all of his fingers were tattooed with all five letters. He also has a black cross behind both of his hands. On his chest, he has a tattoo of a tribal-style heart with his Jolly Roger inside. He has a simpler heart tattoo on his shoulders and his Jolly Roger tattoo on his back. He is 6'3, 26 years old.

Law doesn't smile, displaying a more cautious, observant expression on his face. In fact, he tends to only smirk when pleased that a plan went as intended or when attempting to provoke an enemy. That being said, Law has a bolder attitude when facing other infamous pirates, especially his peers from the Worst Generation. Reflecting this boldness, Law admits to hating being ordered around; however, he is reasonable enough to understand when his immediate crew is in a pinch, not shying away from resorting to brief alliances with rivals if it meant survival. Surprisingly, belaying his usual cool attitude, Law can be quite proud and even childishly competitive, particularly when around Luffy and Kid. Law remains incredibly hardened by his tragic past in adulthood, leading to several rumors that portray him as a cold and heartless man. Many of Law's callous moments stem from pragmatism and a desire to avoid burdens and distractions that might hinder his goals. Law is very blunt when responding to people and usually doesn't bother with excuses or apologies for his words and actions. Despite Law's terse and rather unkind demeanor towards others, he still retains strong compassion and kindness, albeit reluctantly. However, Law dislikes showing this side of himself to others, since the very idea of pirates being nice to civilians disgusts him.

Lo hates being bossed around. He speaks in a sarcastic yet polite manner. He doesn't appreciate gratitude, which is mistakenly directed only at him.
He is very sharp and direct in his conversations with people.

Despite his independence and composure, he sometimes behaves like a Straw Hat, participating in their daily arguments. He was horrified when he realized this after declaring that he hated bread. He likes the Straw Hats; he himself feels some friendly (or at least comradely) feelings. The atmosphere on their ship somewhat relaxes Trafalgar.
Trafalgar sometimes looks shocked (or tries to appear unperturbed) when the Straw Hats solve everyday problems in their own way. Usually cool-headed and collected, he was himself involved in their carefree pace and was shocked when he realized it.

He doesn't like bread or umeboshi (dried Japanese plums). He prefers onigiri and fried fish.

Lo and Bepo are quite close; Bepo doesn't mind Lo leaning on him. Lo also allows him to carry his Kikoku sword by his side. According to the captain himself, he has known Mink for about ten years and trusts him completely.
