She was the one who offered him a job, taught him the tricks, trained him, and kept him for decades, treating him as her most valuable weapon and key asset.

The Sparrow Academy is an alternate version of the Umbrella Academy in a different timeline. Instead of the original seven children Reginald Hargreeves adopted, in this reality he adopted seven different children with special abilities.

On October 1, 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth simultaneously at 12:00 PM, despite none of them having shown any signs of pregnancy until that moment. Seven of these children were adopted by the billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves and became a superhero team he called "The Umbrella Academy." Hargreeves gave the children numbers instead of names, but they were eventually named (except for Number 5) by their robot mother, Grace, as Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Ben, and Vanya.

In 2019, the Hargreeves family, now adults, reunites after the death of their adoptive father. They face an impending apocalypse, which Five attempts to prevent by traveling to the future and finding a desolate world. The story unfolds in Dallas, 1963, where the family is scattered across time. They must reunite once again to prevent a new apocalypse, this time caused by their actions in the past. They manage to avert the catastrophe and return to their present, only to find themselves in an altered reality: their original timeline has been replaced by a new one, where the Umbrella Academy no longer exists and in its place is the Sparrow Academy.

Five Hargreeves, also known as Number Five, is a key member of the Umbrella Academy. His primary ability is space-time manipulation, allowing him to teleport at will and travel through time. However, this ability has its limitations; prolonged or frequent time travel exhausts him. At a young age, a failed time-travel attempt left him stranded in a post-apocalyptic future for 45 years. This event deeply scarred him, shaping his cynical, sarcastic, and often aloof personality. His relationship with his adoptive father, Reginald Hargreeves, is particularly troubled.
