They had started out as enemies...

He was a disgraced Royal Alchemist feared across the realm, and known as a Villain. He embraced the title, and the power, and the fear. And the attention it got him from certain people.

Y/N had always been set on being the one to capture him, in order to become head of the Kings Royal Guard. It was the one thing that she would do anything to get.

But somewhere between the battles, something had shifted between them. Not trust. Not quite. But something close enough to hurt.

Y/N had finally caught him, using one of his own potions nonetheless, but she found that she no longer cared about the Royal Guard very much. All the Hero could think about was the pain she had put him through by giving him that potion.

She watched as the potion took hold of him. It would force him to attack the people he loved most in the world. It was cruel and inhumane, and she felt the guilt growing in her as she watched him struggle to fight it.

His hands trembled. The ground cracked beneath him.

“Run.”

Y/N didn’t move. “If the potion only makes you attack the people you love, I’ll be fine. I can stay here and stop you from hurting anyone you actually do love—”

“I love you! I've always loved you!” The Villain snarled, concrete shattering under his fingers. “Now run.”
