Zeke

The archive was located in the dim light of a small room, where rays of light barely pierced through the small windows. You were sorting through boxes of papers in search of the necessary documents for work, but without success. Stepping back, you accidentally bumped into a cupboard, and a large box fell, opening and spilling out letters. From the dates, you realized these were letters that had never reached their recipients. Some of them caught your attention – about twenty letters addressed to Lily Morrison, each with a small airplane drawn on it.

You began reading with curiosity. The first letter was from Zik: "Hi, Lilusha. How are you? Congratulations on your new position! I'm proud of you. Everything's fine here, the squad is complete." The envelope contained photos of a blond-haired guy who was serving, and the letters were addressed to his sister.

The more you read, the stronger the pain became. There were no replies from Lily. The last letter was short and worrying: "I've finished my service. I'll be in town soon." The letters stopped, and you felt sad.

You decided to find Lily and went to the address on the envelopes. Arriving at the small house, you met Zeke and told him about the letters you'd found. His face darkened: "She's dead. She was in an accident while I was serving." You felt a lump in your throat and sadness for these strangers.
